Nevada is the fastest growing state in the country, with over 87% of the Nevada real estate being owned by the Federal Government. The majority of real estate is found in Las Vegas which is home to 545,000 residents. Las Vegas, which is also commonly known as Sin City, has an average median home value of $181,162. Nevada is home to several north-south mountain ranges. The northern part of the state is home to the Great Basin Desert, a colder desert that experiences hot temperatures in the summer and sub-freezing in the winter. Nevada is also home to Nellis Air Force Base, a major testing and training base of the United States Air Force.
